How many EV charging stations in UK?

When the term ‘range anxiety’ entered our vocabulary some years ago, it was with good reason – the infrastructure for electric car charging in the UK was just not where it should have been. However, things have improved – as of November 2023, the United Kingdom boasts over 61,000 charge point connectors distributed across more than 22,000 locations. Surprisingly, this number surpasses the count of traditional petrol stations, making it easier for electric vehicle owners to find a charging spot.

Average distance between EV charging stations?

One of the questions we are often asked by customers is what is the average distance between EV charging stations in the UK? The answer, according to the County Councils Network is that there’s just one publicly available chargepoint for every ten miles. But before you succumb to range anxiety, you’ll be pleased to hear that our list of award-winning 5-star spas are all within a single charging distance from our Cotswolds car storage facility and have excellent EV charging facilities on site. And breathe…

If you prefer your ‘me time’ to be a bit more upbeat, then this funky members-only spa is for you. Dip your toe into the 40m indoor-outdoor pool, and explore your inner WIm Hof in the Lazy Lake area, oscillating between the ice room, steam room and fireside outdoor hot tub. For those on a fitness drive, new this year is the Grain Store, a state of the art fitness space with its own courtyard and café. But don’t be fooled – this spa isn’t about getting away from it all – in fact, it’s the ideal place to go with friends. The Newt, Bruton, Somerset - 73 miles

Voted Best Spa in the UK by Condé Nast Traveller, this is one day trip worth making from Windrush’s Cotswold car storage facility. Nestled within 1,000 acres, the Georgian-era Hadspen House is a historic beauty, with a newly uncovered Roman villa and traditional cider-making press to boot. But it is the spa that makes this destination truly extraordinary. Set in a former cow barn, the tranquil indoor/outdoor pool sets the scene, overlooking the Medieval herb gardens which you are encouraged to explore, barefoot of course! Wellbeing classes, cold dips, Hammam treatments and gym sessions add to the experience.

Chewton Glen, New Forest, Hampshire - 115 miles

This spa in the New Forest, which opened its doors in 1990, can rightfully claim to be a forerunner of the wellness trend. It would have been easy to rest on its (organic) laurels, but a few years ago, the spa received a refreshing makeover, a bold advert for rejuvenation if ever there was one! Looking out over rolling lawns onto the border between Hampshire and Dorset, the spa is as much a sanctuary as it ever was. Alongside the hydrotherapy pools, heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room there’s a menu of treatments that are custom-made, putting you firmly in the driving seat. There’s also a rotating menu of spa collabs – this year it’s Monpure, a range of hair and scalp treatments formulated to encourage hair growth and improve scalp health.
